I was recently approached, through a mutual friend, by a local band, Bette Noir (pronounced Betty Noir) to shoot some promo photos for them. As an avid music lover and concert goer, I jumped at the chance. While we haven't gotten around to actually shooting the promos, I have been able to photograph them playing live a few times. The first time was a practice and the second was a live show.
Here's a few shots from the practice, held at their rented storage unit in Alexandria, VA (apparently, practicing in a storage unit is relatively common thing, but I had never heard of it and I thought--and still think--it's totally cool):
The rest of the shots are from their show at the Austin Grill in Rockville, Maryland:

This last one is my favorite:
I really enjoyed shooting these and hope to do more band & musician work in the future. If it's something I start doing a lot more of, I'll probably set up another site dedicated to it, but for now, I'm going to just post it here.
I was going back through some older photos and couldn't that I hadn't ever blogged about Angelica and Aaron's wedding from last fall.
Angelica & Aaron are friends of Lisa and Greg whose awesome wedding at Woodlawn Plantation was one of the first I shot. Angelica and Aaron 's wedding was held at the beautiful Glenview Mansion in Rockville, Maryland. I had a great time with them and their families and friends.
Here are a few of my favorites from the day:
That's Greg and Lisa with their beautiful new (at the time) baby boy. It was great to see them again and to see their new addition.
One last thing that I wanted to mention: I was totally impressed with their wedding planner, Tina Randall of Tina's Creative Touch Wedding Planners. She was incredibly thorough and really kept the whole day moving smoothly. She can really cut a rug, too!
Thanks to Angelica and Aaron for having me shoot your wedding! Sorry it took me so long to blog about it.
