I posted a sneak peek from Jessica and Lennie's engagement portrait session a few weeks ago. You'll remember that we had their session on and around the Wilson Bridge in DC. We were lucky to have a beautiful day with beautiful light and we had a great time. This post has a few more of my favorites from the session.
We started out at Jones Point Park which is a little park at the base of the bridge on the Virginia side. It's got a nice little patch of forest that ends at the banks of the Potomac River and offers a great view of the bridge.
There's a little fishing pier right under the bridge, so we headed out on it for a few shots. The family fishing from the pier were pretty amused as we got started .
We then headed up onto the Wilson Bridge itself. Earlier this year they finished the bridge and opened a walkway that goes from Alexandria, VA across the bridge and to National Harbor on the Maryland side. So, we parked in Alexandria and walked out to the first viewing station.
We got to National Harbor just as the sun was setting and shot around into the early night.
I had a great time with Jessica and Lennie and I'm really looking forward to shooting their wedding in January!
I've posted a few photos from Jessica and Lennie's engagement session on the Ben Rasmussen Photography Facebook Page. We did the session on and around the Woodrow Wilson Bridge in DC (well, between Maryland and VA, actually...), starting at Jones Point Park on the VA side and ending up at National Harbor on the MD side. Here's one of the shots to whet your appetite. To see the rest, click over to the FB page. While you're there, feel free to become a fan of the page .
A couple weekends ago, I had a great time shooting a "family" portrait for Lauren, Andrew and their two babies: a puppy named Cal (I think I'm remembering that right!) and their cat (whose name I can't remember--sorry ).
They had mentioned that they never had any engagement pictures taken before their wedding. So, we started out with just Lauren & Andrew and shot some engagement-type portraits. Then we went inside for some shots with the kids, headed back out for some shots with Cal and finally, wrapped up with a few more of just Lauren & Andrew. Some of my favorites from the shoot are below.
I had a great engagement session with Elodie and Samuel last week. We went up to Georgetown and spent a while along the canal and in an alley. We had a great time! Elodie & Samuel were really comfortable in front of the camera and had fun with it.
Here are a few of my favorites from the session. There are a few more on my flickr stream
We met up in Georgetown for Erin & Randy's engagement session. It could not have been a more beautiful day and we had a good time walking around, taking some nice, casual shots.
We started out along the canal. I had walked around the day before to scope out a couple locations and had found the canal almost abandoned. Not this day, however. It was crawling with people and we had to wait a few times to let people walk by.
Then we walked up on the street on our way down towards the Potomac River:
Lastly, we walked up this tiny, steep little street with several cool skinny houses on one side. I love the colors in this shot:
Thanks, Erin & Randy for letting me shoot your engagement photos!
