The
MomentVille Blog is turning out to be a great resource for general wedding related info and
wedding photography info in particular. A recent article caught my attention and I wanted to point it out to you:
How to Get Great Pictures with Less Stress - and More Fun
This article has many excellent tips on how to have a
fun and low-stress wedding day, while helping your photographer to get
great wedding day photos. But, the first tip is worth the price of admission alone:
The best way for you as a bride to help your photographer on the wedding day is to let everything go, experience and relish all the moments and express all your emotions. Now if you become stressed that is the emotion that will be captured. A little preparation, planning, and communicating will help for you to not only have the best wedding images possible, but to enjoy yourself so that you can cut loose and have a great time.
It's true. The best thing you can do to ensure
great wedding photography is to have a good time. Don't get stressed out. Wedding days are crazy. Stuff happens. Roll with it, and enjoy yourself. The photos will capture you enjoying one of the happiest days of your life.
The rest of the article expands on that 'little preparation, planning, and communicating." A couple of ideas that I thought deserves special mention follow.
Communicate all your thoughts to your Photographer before the wedding day; do not feel as though he is some artistic prima donna who is unapproachable. It is better to have more information and not use it than to miss something that would have been helpful.
This couldn't be more true. If you have ideas, I want to hear them. I want to make sure that you
love your wedding photos!
...it is a good idea, for many reasons, to create a shot list of all the formal images. For one, it is not something you want to be thinking about at the moment. Having a list on paper helps the formal shots run smoother and faster which in turn helps them look their best. It also assures that you do not miss a portrait of someone important to you...
A list of the various groups that you want to take formal portraits with is a great idea that really helps the process along. The article goes on to give further tips about how to build the list to make it go smoothly with everyone working together to make some
great wedding formals.
Definitely go and read the whole article, as it's goes into more detail on the points I've mentioned, as well as other ideas that I haven't. I hope that it's been helpful to you and if you have any other tips or suggestions, please leave a comment below!
